At Staffline Recruitment, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a detail-oriented and commercially minded Cost & Management Accountant to join a rapidly growing Irish manufacturing and engineering business.
This role offers the chance to make a real impact in a project-led environment, working closely with Finance, Operations, Commercial and Project teams to provide meaningful cost insight, improve reporting and support strong business decision-making.
The successful candidate will play a key role in cost tracking, forecasting, inventory accounting, margin analysis and process improvement across a portfolio of complex projects.
The Role
Reporting to the Project Costing Commercial Lead, the Cost & Management Accountant will support financial performance analysis across multiple customer projects. The role will suit an analytical finance professional with strong costing experience who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, improving processes and translating financial data into clear commercial insight.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Maintain standard costs, BOM costing and overhead allocation rates across products and services
- Prepare monthly cost centre reporting, variance analysis and clear commentary for budget holders
- Analyse margins, profitability and cost drivers to support pricing, forecasting and commercial decisions
- Manage inventory valuation, COGS reconciliations, WIP balances and stock count follow-up
- Support budgeting, forecasting and project reviews with practical financial insight
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and help improve reporting, processes, ERP discipline and financial controls
Applicants will meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a related field
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
- 3-5 years of experience in cost or management accounting
- Strong knowledge of standard costing, overhead allocation and absorption costing
- Experience of product or job costing methodologies
- High proficiency in Excel and financial modelling
- Experience with ERP systems, particularly SAP
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering, construction, energy or data centre environments
- Exposure to bill of materials (BOM) costing and WIP accounting
- Power BI or equivalent BI / reporting tool experience
- Familiarity with IFRS 15 revenue recognition for long-term contracts
- Experience partnering with project or programme managers in a project-based business
- Background in process improvement or ERP implementation
