Combined HGV LGV Driver Loader

Hours: Full-time
Pay: £14.35 per hour / £14.35 per hour plus applicable night shift enhancements

Shifts: Day and Night shifts available

Staffline Recruitment Ireland is recruiting HGV Class 2 Driver / Loaders to support Belfast City Council within its City and Neighbourhood Services team.

Day and night shift opportunities are available. This is a hands-on role combining HGV driving with waste collection, loading, street cleansing and general operational duties.

The Role

Duties will include:

• Driving and safely operating allocated HGV vehicles
• Collecting waste, recycling and compostable materials
• Loading and emptying bins, containers and other waste receptacles
• Supporting street cleansing and general environmental services
• Assisting with the removal of bulky and heavy waste
• Supervising and supporting allocated crew members where required
• Following daily routes, schedules and work instructions
• Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks
• Completing mileage, fuel, defect and tachograph records
• Operating bin lifts and associated vehicle equipment
• Reporting vehicle or equipment defects
• Working safely around members of the public
• Supporting other waste, recycling or street cleansing duties when not driving

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Full current Class 2 / Category C driving licence
• Valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
• Previous experience driving in a commercial or public sector environment
• Experience dealing directly with members of the public
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Good awareness of health and safety
• Ability to complete basic vehicle checks and driving documentation
