Senior Care Worker
Staffline Recruitment Ireland is recruiting on behalf of a client for Senior Care Worker positions within Adult Residential and Dementia Care services supporting older people.
Permanent Roles Available
- 37 hours per week
- 32 hours per week
As a Senior Care Worker, you will support older people, including those living with dementia, whilst providing leadership and guidance to the wider care team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
- Support residents living with dementia.
- Supervise and support Care Workers.
- Administer medication and maintain records.
- Assist with care plans and risk assessments.
- Promote independence, dignity and wellbeing.
- Ensure safeguarding and health & safety standards are met.
Essential Criteria
- NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a health and social care setting.
- Experience supporting older people and/or individuals living with dementia.
- Experience administering medication.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of person-centred care and safeguarding.
- Flexibility to work a rota including evenings, weekends and sleepovers.
Desirable Criteria
- Previous Senior Care Worker, Team Leader or supervisory experience.
- Experience within residential or dementia care services.
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Working Pattern Candidates must be flexible to work on a rota basis.
Typical shifts may include:
- 08:00 - 20:00
- 14:00 - 23:00, followed by a sleepover and then 07:30 - 14:30
Shift patterns may vary depending on service needs. Most staff work their contracted hours across approximately 4 days per week.
Sleepovers Senior Care Workers are expected to complete approximately 10 sleepover shifts per month. Sleepovers are paid at £75 per shift in addition to salary.
