About the Role

Our client is currently seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to oversee health and safety activities across multiple farm locations throughout the Midlands.

This is a field-based role that will involve regular travel between farm sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation while developing and promoting a positive safety culture throughout the organisation.

Working closely with farm managers, operational teams and senior leadership, you will provide expert guidance on all health and safety matters while implementing policies, procedures and training programmes that support the continued development of safe working practices.

This position would suit a proactive health and safety professional who enjoys working independently, building strong relationships and influencing best practice across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain health and safety policies and procedures across all farm operations.
• Promote and maintain a positive health and safety culture throughout the organisation.
• Conduct regular site visits and safety inspections across multiple farm locations.
• Carry out risk assessments and recommend improvements where necessary.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor operations to ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation.
• Provide expert advice and guidance to managers, supervisors and employees.
• Prepare and maintain weekly and monthly health and safety reports.
• Coordinate and lead safety committees and safety improvement initiatives.
• Deliver employee inductions, manual handling training and other relevant safety training programmes.
• Manage contractors and ensure all project work complies with company safety standards.
• Maintain contractor licensing and governance records.
• Review working practices and safety equipment to ensure compliance with insurer and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain safety dashboards and contribute to continuous improvement and LEAN initiatives.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the Health and Safety Authority and other relevant external bodies.
• Support wider business objectives and participate in group health and safety initiatives when required.

Essential Requirements

• A recognised Health & Safety qualification.
• A minimum of three years' experience in a Health & Safety management role.
• Previous experience managing health and safety across multiple sites.
• Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
• The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• A full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the Midlands region.

Desirable Requirements

• Previous experience within the agriculture, livestock or farming sector.
• Experience delivering health and safety training programmes.
• Knowledge of LEAN principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
