Purchasing Officer - County Fermanagh

Our client, a leading manufacturing company, has a vacancy for a Purchasing Officer at their site in Co Fermanagh.

The company has been operating since the 1970's and they are an integral part of larger group. They are constantly evolving through technical innovation, and they are now at the forefront of providing pioneering, cost effective, construction solutions designed to meet the needs of any construction project.

The Role:

As a Purchasing Officer, you will be required to carry out a variety of duties including

• Assist with the daily purchasing of stock
• Liaise with stores, accounts, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Maintain and review the Vendor Assessment Scheme, ensuring quality standards are met.
• Organize the return of any unacceptable goods.
• Handle daily administration tasks such as weekly reports, data analysis, updating databases, and managing stock orders.
• Carry out other duties as required by management.

Hours of work:

• Mon - Thurs 8am - 5.30pm and Fri 8am - 4pm
• 42hrs per week

Requirements for the successful Purchasing Officer

• A minimum of 1-2 years' previous experience in a purchasing role.
• Strong commercial acumen and excellent negotiation skills.
• Proficient computer skills and familiarity with purchasing software.
• A self-motivated, proactive attitude with the ability to work on your own initiative.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
