About the Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Internal Auditor to join a growing organisation in Sligo. This Internal Auditor role is responsible for leading the internal audit function, delivering risk-based audits, and supporting effective governance and internal controls. The Internal Auditor position would suit a qualified accounting professional with Irish auditing experience who is confident working with senior stakeholders.

Key duties:

• Prepare the annual internal audit plan based on risk assessment for the Audit Committee
• Plan and deliver audit assignments to verify compliance with corporate policies
• Conduct financial, operational and technology internal audits and special reviews
• Prepare audit reports with recommendations to strengthen internal controls
• Monitor and follow up on remediation of identified control issues
• Support management in developing controls and best practice
• Manage the annual risk assessment project
• Lead or support operational and systems projects, including company secretarial returns where required

Essential criteria:

• Fully qualified member of a recognised accountancy body
• Experience gained within the audit department of a large accounting firm or the Internal Audit function of a large organisation
• Irish auditing experience is essential
• Ability to analyse business operations and recommend practical audit solutions
• Applicants must already have the right to work in Ireland (no visa sponsorship available)
• Full current driving licence with access to own vehicle
