Are you an experienced Accounts Administrator looking for a varied and responsible role?

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Accounts Administrator to join a well-established construction company based in Tralee, Co. Kerry. This is a full-time, permanent position offering the opportunity to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of the business by managing the company's bookkeeping and financial administration.

Our client is a long-established, construction company based in Tralee, Co. Kerry, with over 20 years of experience delivering high-quality construction projects throughout Munster. Delivering high-quality building and civil engineering projects across the commercial, residential, industrial, and public sectors throughout Ireland. With a dedicated team of approximately 15 employees and a similar number of subcontractors, the company has built a strong reputation for quality workmanship, professionalism, and long-term client relationships.

As the sole accounts professional within the office, this role offers a high level of responsibility, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of the finance function while working closely with management.

Responsibilities

As an Accounts Administrator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day bookkeeping and financial administration of the business. Your duties will include:

  • Managing general bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records;
  • Processing purchase and sales invoices;
  • Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable;
  • Bank reconciliations and monitoring cash flow;
  • Preparing VAT returns and assisting with payroll administration;
  • Maintaining supplier and subcontractor payment records;
  • Supporting general office administration as required;
  • Ensuring financial documentation is maintained accurately and in compliance with company procedures.

Criteria

  • Previous experience in an Accounts Administrator, Bookkeeper, or similar finance role;
  • An accountancy qualification, relevant studies, or strong bookkeeping experience;
  • Excellent organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Experience using accounting software and Microsoft Office;
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities;
  • Previous experience within the construction industry would be highly desirable.
