Compliance Assistant

Permanent, Belfast
Salary: £26,000
Onsite initially, hybrid working after probation
Monday - Friday

We are working with a well-established, regulated professional services organisation in Belfast who are seeking a Compliance Assistant to join their Risk & Compliance function on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a small, collaborative team where you will gain broad exposure across compliance, AML and onboarding activities. The role offers strong long-term development, variety in day-to-day work and the chance to play a key part in supporting both new and ongoing business.

The Role

Reporting into senior compliance leadership, the Compliance Executive will support the day-to-day operation of the firm's compliance, AML and onboarding frameworks. The role balances facilitating business activity while ensuring regulatory and internal compliance requirements are met.

Responsibilities

  • Support client onboarding, file opening and engagement processes
  • Carry out AML, KYC, sanctions and due diligence checks
  • Maintain compliance records, file management and quality assurance tasks
  • Identify and escalate risks, missing information and compliance issues
  • Respond to routine compliance queries and support process improvements
Key Criteria
  • Degree in Law, Business or a related subject
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Proactive, reliable and able to manage workload independently
