The Garda Victim Liaison Executive plays a pivotal role within the Garda Victim Liaison Office, offering support to Victims of both volume crime and more serious crime.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provision of services and information to individuals seeking support in respect of a traumatic event.
  • Delivery of trauma-informed service.
  • Communicate and engage with a diverse community of people in a sensitive, confidential, empathetic and professional manner.
  • Convey information clearly and confidently, both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain accurate and relevant records through all medium of contacts, including the inputting of data on the associated systems.
  • Conducting critical analysis of proposals, reports, and data to inform evidence-based decision-making and policy development.
  • Manage/present at conferences/seminars both internally and externally, and convey information clearly and confidently.
  • Compile and coordinate training and assist in upskilling other staff.
  • Prepare high-quality submissions, briefings, and recommendations for senior leadership, often under tight deadlines.
  • Ensure the consistent delivery of high standards across all assigned tasks, with a focus on quality assurance, compliance, and accountability.
  • Collaborating on cross-functional projects, contributing to defined outcomes within agreed timelines and resource constraints.
  • Applying legislation, regulations, and procedural frameworks in a practical and context-sensitive manner to support governance and service integrity.
  • Assisting in the preparation of responses to external stakeholders and statutory reports, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with organisational standards.
  • Supporting the monitoring and delivery of programmes of work and projects, ensuring alignment with defined objectives, timelines, and performance indicators.

  • Representing the organisation at meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagements, providing constructive feedback and shaping policy directly.
  • To proactively remain informed and up to date with information and relevant changes within the organisation (campaigns, policy introduction, organisational structure)
  • Undertaking additional duties as assigned by the line manager, demonstrating flexibility, initiative, and a commitment to An Garda Síochána priorities.

Essential Criteria
Candidates, by the closing date, must:

A. Hold a qualification at the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) Level 6 or greater in a relevant discipline.
Or
B. Demonstrate at least two years' experience working in a similar role.

Candidates must also have experience in:

  • Case management and delivery of a confidential listening, advocacy and/or advisory service.
  • Delivering project orientated work with excellent time management, prioritisation and organisational skills.
  • Adhering to regulations to draft organisational policies.
  • Demonstrate adaptability, flexibility and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Public speaking/presenting to a range of internal and external Stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
