Deli Supervisor
Hours: Full time on a Rota basis (Deli Opening Hours: 6am to 6pm Mon to Sun)
Pay: £13.48 per hour
The Role:
As a Deli Supervisor you will manage the daily operations of the full deli offering, including Food to Go, Deli, Hot Food, and In-Store Bakery. Provide strong leadership and support to the team, fostering a positive culture that maximises sales opportunities while consistently delivering outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook, and serve hot and cold food to a high standard.
- Deliver an excellent customer experience to maximise sales and profitability.
- Manage stock levels and ensure stock procedures are followed correctly.
- Understand customer needs and encourage the team to provide outstanding service.
- Maintain compliance with HACCP, food safety regulations, and Natasha's Law.
- Complete all required food safety records and documentation accurately.
- Plan and organise weekly and quarterly stock takes.
- Review stock results and implement action plans where needed.
- Minimise stock loss through effective portion control, weighing, labelling, pricing, and waste management.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and food quality.
- Lead, support, and manage a team of colleagues.
- Conduct return to work interviews and support colleague investigations when required.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Train and develop team members to maximise performance and customer satisfaction.
- Support store and community initiatives, including charity partnerships.
- Promote and utilise social media to drive sales and customer engagement.
- Monitor local competitor activity and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Provide key-holder cover when required, following appropriate training.
Essential Criteria:
- At least 1 year`s recent experience in a busy fast food, cafe, deli, food to go or hot counter environment
- GCSE Maths and English, Grade C or above (or equivalent) and or further education in related discipline e.g. NVQ in catering or higher
- Have a good working knowledge of food safety practices i.e., HACCP, scores on the doors and Natasha's Law.
- Demonstrate communication & interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
Desirable Criteria:
- Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate
- Experience of deli operations including bakery, delicatessen, provisions, and coffee
