About the Role
A growing automation and engineering company based in Dundalk is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven engineer who wants to work on innovative automation and mechanical design projects within a dynamic and supportive environment.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting automated equipment and mechanical systems used across a variety of industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed 3D models and 2D engineering drawings using CAD software

• Design mechanical components, assemblies, and automation equipment

• Collaborate with internal engineering, manufacturing, and project teams

• Support projects from concept through to manufacture and commissioning

• Assist with design improvements and continuous engineering development

• Ensure designs comply with engineering standards and safety requirements

• Prepare technical documentation including BOMs and specifications

Requirements

• Degree or qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline

• Experience using CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor or similar)

• Strong mechanical design and problem-solving skills

• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and materials

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills

Desirable

• Mechatronics qualification or background in automation systems

• Experience in machinery or automation design

• Knowledge of pneumatic and basic electrical integration within mechanical systems

• Experience working in a manufacturing or automation environment
