About the Role:
Staffline is recruiting a Chargehand to supervise day-to-day operations at the Council's Household Recycling Centres. You will lead staff, ensure safe and efficient operations, monitor performance, and deliver high-quality service while supporting waste and recycling initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise operatives and ensure smooth running of recycling centres.

• Maintain quality standards for recyclable materials.

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and Duty of Care legislation.

• Support staff training, attendance management, and toolbox talks.

• Deputise for Waste & Resource Management Supervisors when needed.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths, or 2+ years relevant experience.

• At least 1 year supervisory experience in waste/recycling, refuse collection, or street cleansing.

• Strong organisational and leadership skills.

• Full driving licence or access to suitable transport.

• Knowledge of health & safety, manual handling, and waste legislation.
