Role Overview

Staffline Recruitment Ireland is seeking a Transport Finance & Data Analyst to support transport and logistics operations through accurate financial reporting, performance analysis, and actionable insights. This role will contribute to operational efficiency by analysing transport costs, route performance, and fleet utilisation while supporting strategic and commercial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Analysis & Cost Control

  • Prepare and analyse weekly transport cost reports including fuel, labour, maintenance, tolls, and subcontractor spend.

  • Monitor cost per route, vehicle, kilometre, and delivery drop.

  • Track budget performance and highlight variances and cost risks.

  • Support commercial costing and margin analysis for new and existing contracts.

Data Reporting & Insights

  • Produce weekly and monthly performance dashboards and management reports.

  • Identify trends in fuel usage, overtime, maintenance spend, and resource utilisation.

  • Translate complex data into clear insights for operational and senior leadership teams.

  • Highlight opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost reduction initiatives.

Operational & Commercial Support

  • Partner with transport planners and operations teams to assess route effectiveness and workforce productivity.

  • Review planned versus actual hours and identify improvement opportunities.

  • Assist with forecasting volumes, fleet requirements, and labour demand.

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Maintain high data accuracy across finance and transport systems.

  • Improve and streamline reporting processes, including automation where possible.

  • Support continuous improvement projects within transport and logistics operations.

Key Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Background in finance, accounting, or data analysis.

  • Experience in cost reporting, budgeting, or performance analysis.

  • Advanced Excel capability (pivot tables, lookups, formulas).

  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.

  • Ability to present financial insights clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
