About the Role

We are seeking a full-time Orthopaedic Nurse to join our team, supporting the delivery of high-quality, patient-focused care within our General Orthopaedic clinics. This role plays a key part in ensuring that specialist orthopaedic nursing knowledge and skills are applied to enhance patient outcomes and support the overall service.

As a senior clinical professional and role model, you will promote best practice, contribute to continuous improvement, and support colleagues within a multidisciplinary team. You will help drive departmental success through effective communication, collaboration, and commitment to high standards of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and identify orthopaedic/surgical candidates for pre-admission and post-discharge, supporting safe discharge planning and referral processes.

• Act as a key resource for orthopaedic patients attending other departments or external services.

• Deliver patient education in both clinical and outpatient settings.

• Support the development and maintenance of accurate records for arthroplasty cases in line with national standards.

• Collaborate with surgeons and the wider team to coordinate patient care effectively.

• Ensure clear, accurate, and confidential communication of patient information.

• Assist in the development and delivery of education, teaching, and training programmes for staff.

Candidate Requirements

• Current NMBI registration.

• Higher Diploma in Orthopaedic Nursing (desirable).

• Minimum 5 years' post-registration experience in orthopaedics.

• Strong commitment to patient safety and quality care.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.

• Ability to work independently with strong initiative and self-motivation.
