Job description

An opportunity with our client has become available for a 12-month contract for a financial controller to join their accounting team to support day to day operations in the Hospitality Industry. Reporting to the CEO and General Manager, the role will be key to ensuring successful delivery of financial reports and support the management team across the business.

Responsibilities:

· Preparation and analysis of monthly management accounts

· Reconciliation of control accounts and balance sheet accounts

· Manage cashflow, banking, BACS payments and VAT compliance

· Preparation of weekly reports to management team as required

· Ensure proper preparation and posting of all journals for closing accounting period

· Review of weekly payroll for accuracy

· Prepare and file all taxes as required by law and regulations

· Provide analytical support to all operational areas of the business

· Manage external service providers including audit etc

· Mentor and manage the members of the accounts department (4 members)

· Other adhoc tasks as required

The Skills Required:

· ACA/ACCA qualification with PQE

· The ability to take responsibility for a wide range of tasks

· Experience using accounting packages and excellent computer skills

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

· Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

· Experience in managing a team

· Experience in the hospitality sector or similar role is desirable
