Our client, one of NI's largest HVAC control systems houses based in Newtownabbey are currently seeking to recruit a Workshop Supervisor to join their team.

Salary is between 25k - 27k depending on experience with many company benefits.

The role is permanent.

Due to an increased in workload, an opportunity has arisen for a Workshop Supervisor with one of our premier client's. This role will work in conjunction with their existing Workshop Supervisor and report to the Project Director.

Hours of Work Monday - Thursday 8.30am - 4.45pm, Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm with 30 minutes for lunch.

Key Responsibilities

  • To manage the Workshop
  • To oversee the manufacturing process of the BMS control panels including production packs and kits are complete and passed to the panel builders in a timely manner.
  • That jobs are allocated to the build team on a timely basis.
  • Control panels are tested and readied for despatch.
  • Company internal checklists are completed in line with policy prior to despatch.
  • To have a basic understanding of electrical circuitry and how to test BMS control panels.
  • To manage the day-to-day operation and accompanying processes of the workshop team including holiday requests, sickness, allocation of projects, timesheets, testing of panels etc.
  • Alongside the HSEQ manager, ensure that the workshop is a safe working environment and that their Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental procedures are adhered to.
  • To be proactive in liaising with the Project department in terms of deliveries, stock items etc.
  • As the Workshop Supervisor, you will also be responsible for managing the Workshop Assistant's workload including the safe and efficient use of the punching, guillotine, folding and labelling machines.
  • General housekeeping, cleaning and tidiness of workshop area, wrapping & packing of finished control panels and the loading & Unloading of delivery vehicles.

Criteria

  • A familiarity with sheet metal work / basic engineering processes would be an advantage.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of standard electrical components would be an advantage.
  • A full clean driving license.
  • Fork Truck license would be an advantage
