Job Title: Warehouse Manager
Location: Cork
Employment Type: Full-Time / Permanent

Overview

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Warehouse Manager to lead and optimise the daily operations of their warehouse. the successful candidate will be responsible for managing a small team, ensuring the accurate and timely handling of stock and deliveries, and maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient working environment. The ideal candidate will be a confident leader with strong planning, communication, and problem-solving skills.


Key Responsibilities

1. Management & Communication

  • Maintain clear and effective communication across warehouse teams and with senior management.

  • Serve as the main point of contact between departments and third-party logistics providers.

2. Leadership & Team Motivation

  • Lead, motivate, and support a small warehouse team to achieve high performance.

  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and productive work culture.

3. Planning & Organising

  • Plan and coordinate daily workloads, delivery schedules, and truck loading/unloading.

  • Manage rotas to ensure adequate staffing and efficient workflow.

  • Prioritise and delegate tasks to meet operational deadlines.

  • Oversee prompt and professional customer service within the warehouse.

4. Team Delegation & Supervision

  • Supervise daily operations, ensuring timely handling of stock and preparation of storage areas.

  • Coordinate goods-in processes, including unloading, put-away, and inter-branch transfers (IBTs).

  • Manage container deliveries, ensuring timely and safe unloading.

  • Lead regular cycle counts and organise the annual stocktake.

  • Monitor team performance, mentor staff, and support professional development.

5. Conflict Resolution & Management

  • Address conflicts professionally and constructively.

  • Promote a balanced, fair, and solutions-focused approach to conflict resolution.

6. Systems Management

  • Identify opportunities for process and system improvements.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in warehouse operations and stock control.

7. Compliance & Health and Safety

  • Ensure all operations comply with health and safety regulations.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised warehouse environment.

  • Manage team absences and holidays to minimise disruption.

  • Conduct risk assessments and enforce adherence to safety protocols.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience in warehouse or logistics management.

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.

  • Excellent planning, organisational, and delegation skills.

  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills.

  • Skilled in conflict resolution and team motivation.

  • Proficient with warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Good understanding of health & safety and regulatory compliance.

  • Forklift licence (desirable, but not essential).
