Trainee Depot Supervisor
We are recruiting for a Trainee Depot Supervisor to join the team of one of our clients based in Antrim. The client is an easy, economical, no fuss courier service who have you covered whether you need local, national or international delivery or even if you need a returns service. They offer a cost-effective, reliable, friendly service, backed by the latest technology to deliver digitally driven solutions to meet evolving client needs.
This position will initially be temporary with a view to a permanent role. The role will include 8 weeks training and the successful candidate will be promoted to the supervisory position after the successful training period. Following a further 4 weeks in the supervisory position, the successful candidate will be offered a permanent position.
Responsibilities:
- All freight in the depot is scanned as follows:
- Scanned in from Linehaul/ direct deliveries from customers/ adhoc deliveries
- Problem / exception freight is scanned with matching except barcode
- All undelivered freight is scanned, from - left in depot or returned in the evening
- Ensure sorting is performed efficiently and in a timely fashion
- Ensure all freight is efficiently prioritized and rotated to minimize late deliveries
- Give out collections to couriers and scan (receiver pays, parcel connect and reverse collections) SPE system
- Help with unsorted freight in morning
- Monitor cage numbers to make sure there is enough for daily operation
- Deal with damages freight, action problem freight, scan and log
- Make sure all drivers are in and report if now
- Process RTS freight
- Oversee depot sorters to ensure cages filled correctly
- Check cages with Desto stickers labeled correctly
- Ensure all problem freight is logged on OES and problems resolved
- Run the daily reports
- Scan and process dropped in freight
- Process misdirects
- Review depot for problems and ensure freight not sent out inappropriately.
Essential Criteria:
- Driving licence is essential
- Candidate must be 25+ for company insurance purposes
- Computer experience essential, ie. with spreadsheets
- Full training will be provided for example, in hours systems for reporting etc.
Hours of Work:
Rotational shifts on a 3-week basis. Monday to Friday:
- Week 1 - 6am to 2pm
- Week 2 - 3.30pm to 7.30pm
- Week 3 - Split shift - 6am to 10am & 3.30pm to 7.30pm
- (alternated on a 3-week rota except for holiday cover)
