Trainee Accountant

Our client is a top-tier Accountancy practice based in the heart of Belfast and is currently looking to recruit a Trainee Accountant to their growing team! This is a great opportunity for an excellent graduate or someone with previous experience within a finance role looking to specialize in the area. The successful applicant will assist in the preparation of accounts and bookkeeping duties.

Responsibilities

• Regular communication with clients by phone, email, and in-person meetings
• Preparing financial accounts and supporting both corporate and personal tax return processes
• Managing bookkeeping tasks and preparing draft VAT returns
• Opportunity to contribute to transactional work, such as M&A, and provide complex tax guidance
• Involvement in ad hoc projects and offering support across different business functions

Essential Criteria

• GCSE/A-level/Degree qualification, ideally in a numerate subject or discipline demonstrating your analytical skills
• Strong numerical skill
• Proficient IT skills in MS Office and Excel
• Strong communicator - ability to engage with all levels within the business
