Job Title: Solicitor
Location: Derry, Northern Ireland
Salary: Competitive (Dependent on Experience)
Job Type: Permanent

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Solicitor to join a well established legal firm in Derry, Northern Ireland. The ideal candidate will have expertise in one or more areas of law, such as conveyancing, family law, litigation, criminal law, wills & probate, or corporate law. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with excellent client-facing skills and the ability to manage a varied caseload effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal advice and representation to clients.
  • Manage and progress a caseload in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, tribunals, and alternative dispute resolution.
  • Conduct legal research and stay up to date with legislative changes.
  • Liaise with clients, counsel, and other stakeholders to ensure successful case outcomes.
  • Maintain high levels of client care and confidentiality.
  • Ensure compliance with the Law Society of Northern Ireland regulations and best practices.

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualified Solicitor in Northern Ireland with a valid practising certificate.
  • Proven experience in at least one relevant area of law.
  • Strong advocacy, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and case management software.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience in multiple areas of law.
  • A strong network within the legal and business community in Northern Ireland.
  • Business development and client relationship management skills.
