Job description

Plumbing/Heating Engineer Role

The purpose of the proposed role will be to provide an outstanding service to our tenants ensuring the delivery of a high-quality maintenance service across all our schemes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and maintain our responsive repairs service by carrying out a range of plumbing and heating repairs (oil only) to our properties
  • Carry out void property works ensuring all work is undertaken within stipulated timeframes
  • Carry out oil servicing as required
  • Itemise the work to be carried out
  • Carry out work to the high-quality standards that the Employer expects

Health & Safety:

  • Adhere to all health & safety regulations and company policy at all times
  • Report any accidents or issues regarding health & safety appropriately
  • Ensure all Risk Assessments & safe systems of work are read, understood, signed and followed
  • Observe & follow all manual handling practices

The successful candidate should:

  • Hold a relevant Level 3 plumbing qualification and be OFTEC Registered
  • Hold a Valid CSR Card or formal Health and Safety Training or willing to achieve this within first 2 months of employment
  • Have 3 years post qualification experience in plumbing and heating industry
  • Hold a Full UK Driving License
  • Be capable of working on own initiative
  • Have an ability to work methodically and with attention to detail
  • Possess good communication and organisational skills
  • Have a good timekeeping and attendance record
  • Have the ability to work with a wide range of people
  • Be a good team player
  • Demonstrate ability to follow written and verbal directions
  • Demonstrate a flexible attitude towards assigned tasks
  • Be reliable & committed
  • Have ability to work to deadlines
  • Have ability to take on new skills
  • Have an ability to work from a PDA (personal digital assistant)
  • Have a positive approach to continuous improvement processes and techniques
  • Ensure van and keys (including those for properties) are kept securely and ensuring cleaning and care of the van, tools and equipment.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained and in clean, working order and reporting any faults to the Property Services Officer
  • Be willing to assist external response maintenance contractors to carry out their work efficiently by giving access and guiding them to areas of work as required
