Park Warden - Belfast

Full-Time | £15.33 per hour

About the Role

We are seeking Park Wardens to support in acting key holder to ensure the opening and closing of parks across various locations in the Belfast Area. Including adherence to health and safety policies, while creating a positive environment for all participants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enforce council bye-laws, dog control orders, litter code and carry out alcohol enforcement.
  • Regular walkabouts or patrols in parks, cemeteries, allotments etc to identify problems and enforce relevant by-laws or legislation relating to antisocial behaviour. This will include, but is not restricted to:
  • Drinking, littering, graffiti in parks and open spaces;
    • Dumping/fly tipping;
    • Dog fouling;
  • Undertaking enforcement within parks and open spaces, at key events and at seasonal periods alongside partner agencies
  • Issuing of warning notices and fixed penalties as appropriate

What You Need

Essential Criteria

  • have a full, current driving licence which enables them to drive in Northern Ireland, or, have access to a form of transport which enables them to carry out the duties of the post in full[1]; and
  • be able to demonstrate by providing personal and specific examples on the application form, that they have at least one year�s relevant experience in each of the following three areas:
  1. dealing effectively with members of the public in a face-to-face environment;
  2. working within a security role, for example, opening/closing facilities, carrying out patrols, setting alarms, recording and reporting incidents and working with other statutory bodies

and

  1. working in an enforcement or legislative role, for example, dog control orders, litter code and, or alcohol enforcement.
