Band 6 MRI Radiographer required on a temporary basis based in Antrim

Role: Band 6 MRI Radiographer

Rate of Pay: £18.10

Location: Antrim

Hours: Various Hours

Duration: 3 Months

Main duties/Responsibilities:

  • To undertake MRI Scanning duties within the Northern Trust on all sites.

  • Maintaining a high standard of personal work whilst acting as a member of a team
  • Advise and assist staff of a more junior grade by providing advice based on knowledge and experience within the MRI team.
  • Undertaking MRI scanning in Antrim Hospital or any other hospital in the Northern Trust if required
  • Ability to liaise with relevant individuals and groups and establish good working relationships which support continual quality initiatives
  • Ensure that personal quality of work is evaluated against performance and departmental quality standards
  • The SOR and HPC codes of professional conduct for Radiographers
  • Ensuring that equipment is properly maintained, reporting any deficiencies, malfunctions, defects or occurrence which may affect safety to the Radiographer in Charge
  • Maintaining a high standard of patient care with particular regard to MRI safety.
  • Acting as a Professional in treating each patient as an individual in terms of courtesy, kindness, sympathy and confidentiality.
  • Any other duties or responsibilities appropriate to the grade as directed by the Departmental Manager

Criteria:

  • Degree or diploma in Radiography.
  • Current HCPC Registration.
  • At least 3 years post qualification experience in Diagnostic Radiography
  • 2 years experience in MRI
  • MRI experience working with GE Optima 450W 1.5T and Siemens Sola scanners
  • MRI PGCert desirable
  • PGCert or equivalent in IV cannulation
  • Participate in flexible working sessions including evenings and weekends & BH's throughout the Northern Trust
  • Good communicative skills.
  • Knowledge of role of Radiographer in MRI Imaging.
  • Knowledge of MR Safety
  • Access NI check required
  • Good general health for the demands of the post
  • To be familiar with and abide by:
  • Health & Safety at work order 1978
  • COSHH Regulations.
  • Ionising Radiation Regulations
  • All present and future departmental quality standards.
  • Departmental local rules and policies/procedures
  • MHRA safety guidelines for MR equipment in clinical use.
  • The SOR and HPC codes of professional conduct for Radiographers
  • To work within the rules and regulations applicable to the department
  • To follow all Trust policies and protocols
