Staffline Recruitment Ireland is seeking a Machine Operator (evening shift) to join a specialist precision engineering company. This is a permanent role based in Shannon, Co. Clare.

Responsibilities

The Machine Operator will support efficient, accurate and safe production of precision cutting tools. Key duties include:

  • Operate and monitor production and grinding machines, CNC lathes or dedicated tool making equipment to required production and quality standards;
  • Set up machines and change tooling;
  • Inspect parts during production using micrometres, gauges and other precision measurement tools to ensure tolerances are met;
  • Carry out routine machine maintenance;
  • Follow work instructions, process sheets and quality control procedures (including documentation of production data);
  • Assist with tool grinding, finishing and any manual processes required to achieve final product specification;
  • Work to strict health & safety and ISO/quality procedures and participate in continuous improvement activities;
  • Communicate effectively with team leads and quality personnel to escalate and resolve production or quality issues.

Criteria

  • Previous experience operating manufacturing or machining equipment (grinders, CNC or production machines);
  • Experience in precision engineering or tool making is advantageous;
  • Comfortable using precision measuring instruments and interpreting engineering drawings;
  • Ability to follow strict quality and safety procedures and maintain accurate production records;
  • Flexibility to work in evening shifts.
