The successful candidate will implement internal communications strategies to support An Garda Síochána's mission to keep people safe.
This includes responsibility for planning and organising campaigns, liaising with internal stakeholders and leadership to source stories of good Garda work to support a positive organisational culture and encourage employee engagement.
Content curation and editorial management of internal communications platforms, such as Newsbeat (internal newsletter) and the Garda Portal (intranet) is a key part of this role.
Managing and creating content in various other formats, attendance at events, facilitating message distribution across the organisation, and designing engaging content.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Internal communications content and channel management.
- Internal communications campaign management.
- Circulating and publishing safety messaging.
- Working across the organisation with colleagues to develop national campaigns and messaging.
- Act as an Ambassador for the Office of Corporate Communications to senior management.
- Attending events for internal communications purposes.
- Acting as a central point for the organisation in the implementation of internal communications strategies.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues in the Office of Corporate Communications to achieve shared objectives, including crisis communications
Essential: Professional Qualifications, Experience, Requirements, Skills
Candidates by the closing date must have:
A minimum National Framework of Qualification (NFQ) Level 6 relevant qualification in communications, journalism, public relations or a similar discipline.
OR
Demonstrate at least two years' relevant experience working in the area of communications, multi-media, social media and/or internal communications.
Candidates must also have experience in a working or educational environment:
- Managing communications content and channel strategy and tasks.
- Writing, editing and presenting material in a clear, concise and comprehensive manner.
- Coordinating large amounts of material and content for publication.
- The ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure.
- High IT literacy, e.g. proficiency in using a website/intranet Content Management System and other marketing and publishing software (i.e. Adobe or similar).
Desirable: Requirements, Skills:
- Proficiency in Irish.
- Ability to remain calm and focused during a crisis.
- Experience designing creative content.
- Have a current category B full clean Irish driving licence.
