Healthcare Assistant (HCA)

Highly competitive salary

Permanent (Full-time and part-time - Day & Night Shifts)

Location

County Mayo-Castlebar and Murrisk

County Meath  -Dunshanglin, Kells and Ashbourne - Night shift

THE ROLE

You will be a member of the health care team who helps with personal care, daily activities, and maintenance and management of household routines. 

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

  • QQI Level 5 or equivalent in Health Care Studies or related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience 
  • Driver and have access to a car
  • Present a current Curriculum Vitae that includes education and experience 
  • Demonstrate an ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. 
  •  Provide two verifiable references from recent and relevant employers. 
  • Have a fit to work form / medical questionnaire completed and signed by GP. 
  • Complete a garda vetting declaration form and a clean disclosure. 
  • Meets all competency, experience, and educational requirements in accordance with the company
  • Exemplifies characteristics of the company way: compassion, excellence, and reliability. 
  • Complete onboarding/induction training by Clinical Educator 
  • Have up to date mandatory trainings including but not limited to CPR, Manual Handling, Infection control 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Will be accountable for the following set of responsibilities and expected to assume additional responsibilities as the role progresses in professional development.

  • Adheres to the established client care plan 
  • Assists with assigned personal care tasks 
  • Assists with ambulation and exercises 
  • Performs other activities as directed by the Clinical Nurse Manager e.g. measuring and preparing meals, assisting with the use of certain equipment 
  • Understands and follows safety and infection control policies and practices 
  • Demonstrates sound judgement 
  • Take initiative to assist the client, go above and beyond in the care provided 
  • Report any clinical incidents using the company's incident reporting application
