Our Client, A Large Public Sector Organisation based in various locations require Harbour and Marina Assistants to join their team.
Role : Harbour and Marina Assistants
Locations : Portrush, Ballycastle , Rathlin Island, Coleraine
Hours of Work : Various (Rota) Mon - Sunday (Inc. Weekends, Bank holidays ) 20-40hrs per week on average.
Hourly Rate : 1-12 weeks £12.69 13 weeks + £13.26
Main Duties :
- Monitor the safe operation of the Harbour/ Marina Estate including security i.e. opening up, locking up, gate access control, CCTV etc.
- Record vessel movements in the Harbour/ Marina Estate, allocate berths, provide services e.g. electricity and water.
- Collect, receipt and lodge monies daily relating to customer payments for contracts and short-term stays in the Harbour/ Marina Estate and maintain associated records as directed.
- Provide general reception and administration duties including customer care.
- Manage vessel movement including VHF communication.
- Dispense and receive fuel in accordance with sales records and safety procedures.
- Monitor the safety of vessels daily particularly in adverse weather.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, movements & safety information with particular reference to handing over to the next shift.
- Maintain, inspect and clean daily/hourly Harbour/ Marina Estate facilities ensuring that all areas are in a clean and tidy condition including public areas, toilets, walkways, slipways, berths and piers and maintain associated records as directed.
- Report any repairs or damage identified to the Harbour Master and carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks identified, as directed.
- Provide information regarding the facilities to users of the Harbour/ Marina Estate and respond to any enquiries.
- Monitor and control public access on the site as required, including car parking.
- Assist with event management, on site as required.

Essential Criteria :
- One year's experience working in the Marine/Harbour environment.
- One year's experience working with the general public in a customer facing role.
- English and Maths at GCSE level or equivalent ( above C Grade ).
- One year's experience using MS Excel, Word and Outlook or a similar software package.
- Applicants must be able to swim.
- One year's cash handling experience.
