I have an exciting opportunity for an experienced GL Accountant with a high level of motivation and initiative to join a team of professionals. In this role you will work closely with the Financial Controller to build the organisation's capability and be responsible for overseeing the general ledger and all business areas to ensure financial resources are available to support the delivery of strategic outcomes.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Reconciling bank statements, post cash receipts and direct debit entries
  • Prepare the fixed asset schedule and post depreciation
  • Issue sales invoices and reconcile the debtors report ensuring any aged debtors are reported to sales and the financial controller
  • Maintain the lease schedules and bank loan reconciliations
  • Review the P&L to ensure costs are coded correctly, re-class any prepaid items
  • Post and reconcile accruals
  • Ensure creditors are cleared and reconciled each month
  • Provide payroll reports ensuring revenue guidelines are compliant
  • Maintain pension accounts
  • Prepare VAT returns
  • Assist with year end audit

Skills and Attitudes:

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Advanced organisational skills
  • Strong computer skills; competency in MS Office applications including Word & Excel
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Able to constantly update job knowledge
