Financial Accountant | Part or Fully Qualified ACCA

The Client:
Staffline Recruitment specialises in providing temporary staffing solutions to clients nationwide. We currently have vacancies in the Kilkenny area and are seeking on-call temporary office staff to provide relief cover for our growing client base.

The Role:

Financial Accountant | Part or Fully Qualified ACCA
As a temporary worker, you will provide relief support to our clients within the region, with duties varying depending on their specific needs.

Contract Type/Duration: Temporary until approx Jan 2025 end date.
Location: Kilkenny / Hybrid Role

Role Overview:
As a Financial Accountant, you will ensure the efficient management of a portfolio and deliver accurate monthly financial reports on time. Working closely with the Finance Manager and Operations team, you'll have the opportunity to gain experience in the Waste and Water sectors and assist in reporting and system improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review balance sheet reconciliations (Workday) and support internal control and external audits.
  • Identify and escalate financial risks as needed.
  • Manage monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and long-term plans, reviewing and approving financial reports such as the monthly Regional Report, Monthly Financial Review Packs, and other ad-hoc reports.
  • Report on internal and group performance.
  • Provide regular feedback to the Finance Manager and General Managers, and request assistance when needed.
  • Demonstrate control over your portfolio by understanding risks and performance issues, and develop actions where necessary.
  • Highlight key information when sending emails and reports.
  • Assist in managing working capital, credit control, and treasury functions.
  • Build strong relationships with Operations staff and communicate key performance information effectively.
  • Drive the automation of manual processes and reports.
  • Support General Managers by providing essential financial information and assisting with the integration of new business P&L.
  • Ensure team compliance with Health and Safety policies.
  • Take responsibility for your duties and engage in continuous learning (including systems).
  • Maintain high personal standards when delivering work and contribute to technology advancements within the finance department and the wider business.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects and adhere to the company's code of conduct.

Skills Required:

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CP, or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong IT and financial systems skills, particularly in process flow design and implementation.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Positive, proactive attitude with a passion for helping and supporting teams.
  • Strong commercial awareness, particularly in a dynamic, multinational environment.
  • Effective time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Clear communication and reporting of month-end performance.
  • Strong organisational skills, making use of resources and existing technology to alleviate bottlenecks.
  • Experience with Workday financial systems.
  • Familiarity with Google applications is desirable.
  • A self-starter with strong analytical rigour and the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to interact with staff at all levels, including senior management.

Working Hours:
Assignments will run between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday. No late nights or weekend work required.

  • Salary of €50,000-€55,000 per year for this role.
