Pay Rate: £13.10 per hour
Hours: Full-time
Shift Pattern: 4 days on / 4 days off - two days followed by two nights (6am-6pm / 6pm-6am)

About the Role:

As a Control Room Operator within our Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC), you will play a vital role in ensuring alarm responses and client support are managed promptly, efficiently, and professionally. You will monitor alarm systems, manage call traffic, and deliver high-quality customer service for a range of key accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responding to alarms in a timely and accurate manner
  • Handling inbound and outbound calls efficiently and professionally
  • Logging incidents, documenting all relevant information, and completing reports to be shared with clients
  • Supporting clients with alarm testing, including fire alarm and system checks
  • Remaining calm and focused during real incidents, escalating appropriately and communicating updates clearly
  • Performing proactive monitoring and client-specific tasks such as camera checks and audio verifications
  • Managing access control systems through intercoms and password verification
  • Adhering to all operational procedures and contributing to team targets
  • Acting as the primary operator for key accounts including NBS, FUJI, RR, SAINS, and EE

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience working in a switchboard or call centre environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle fast-paced environments
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when logging incidents and managing alarms
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Willingness to learn, take initiative, and demonstrate a high level of professionalism
