Security Control Room Operator - Lurgan (Day & Night Shifts Available)

Salary: £12.60 - £13.60 per hour (depending on shift)
Location: Lurgan, County Armagh
Hours: 42 hours per week (various patterns: 7am-7pm , 7pm-7am / 6am-6pm / 6pm-6am / 11am-11pm
Employment Type: Permanent

About the Role

We are recruiting Security Control Room Operators for our client Mitie in Lurgan. In this role, you will be at the heart of operations, monitoring live CCTV feeds, managing security alerts, and ensuring client sites and assets are protected.

You'll work in a professional control room environment, handling real-time incidents, liaising with clients, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This position is ideal for candidates with experience in security monitoring, CCTV control rooms, or incident management, and offers excellent career progression with one of the UK's leading facilities management companies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor CCTV and security systems, responding to alerts in real-time
  • Manage incoming and outgoing calls with clients and site staff
  • Report and escalate incidents in line with company procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of activity, incidents, and compliance checks
  • Conduct welfare check-ins with officers on duty
  • Ensure data and system usage complies with ISO 27001 and industry standards
  • Work as part of a professional team to meet KPIs and service levels

Essential Criteria

  • Previous experience in a security control room, CCTV monitoring, or similar environment
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software quickly
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions
  • 5-year checkable history and successful completion of PSNI/BS7858 screening

Desirable Criteria

  • Prior experience in a customer service role within security or facilities management
  • Familiarity with security compliance standards (BS5979, ISO 27001)
