About the Role

We are recruiting a Head of Compliance to join our team at our Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council facilities. The postholder will also have to undertake additional duties relevant to the post as reasonably assigned.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide a business support service which includes the management of financial operations, performance management and business information systems and the day to day management and development of assigned staff and resources to ensure that the business and administrative needs of the Service Unit are met in an efficient and cost effective manner.
• Manage and develop a high quality service to the Council in support of the corporate plan and strategic work plans.
• To operate in a dynamic and changing environment, recommending creative solutions to project issues and challenges, and provide professional advice and assistance on innovative business and administrative practices.

Required:

It is essential that applicants have a minimum of:

• 1 A third level qualification (for example, an HNC, HND, NVQ Level 4, Degree) or equivalent in an appropriate discipline eg Financial Management, Accountancy, Business administration, etc.

1.2 A minimum of four years' relevant middle management experience in the following areas of responsibility:

• Production of financial reports/information
• Managing and developing financial controls/administrative systems and processes.
• Managing and developing budgetary control systems.
• Managing and developing performance management systems and processes.
• Development of operational business plans
• Line Management

Where applicants do not hold the qualifications as outlined in 1.1 above, they must demonstrate a minimum of seven years' experience as outlined in 1.2 above
