About the Role
We are offering an exciting fixed-term opportunity to play a central role in evolving AFBI's Cloud-First hybrid network infrastructure. This is your chance to work with next-generation networking technologies, including Microsoft Azure Cloud Network Services and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) architecture.
As a Cloud Network Engineer, you will be empowered to make a real impact by supporting a robust and innovative infrastructure that underpins AFBI's digital journey. Working in a small, agile team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate, learn, and grow while contributing to cutting-edge solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a key member of AFBI's cloud migration team, researching, evaluating, and recommending new technologies or redesigns of existing solutions.
- Contribute to the configuration and management of Azure cloud infrastructure and services, ensuring high availability and timely resolution of issues.
- Oversee network onboarding processes for new users and systems, working closely with cross-functional teams.
- Configure and manage cloud networking services to enable secure connectivity between on-premises and cloud environments.
- Monitor cloud network usage and scale services in line with evolving business requirements.
- Support ongoing development of AFBI's Cloud-First hybrid infrastructure in line with best practices.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must, by the closing date for applications, demonstrate that they meet the following essential requirements:
- At least a Level 4 qualification in Computing, Software Engineering, or a discipline relevant to Information Systems and Information Technology.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in network engineering, including designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level networks.
- At least 2 years' experience in deploying and managing Microsoft Azure services (e.g., virtual machines, storage, networking, and security).
- Strong understanding of network protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- Proven experience with network security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, and endpoint protection.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot network and Azure-related issues using network analysis tools.
- Qualifications (essential):
- CompTIA Network+
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA: Routing & Switching)
Qualifications (desirable):
- CCNA: Security
- Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect)
- ITIL Foundation
