Band 3 Team Secretary
LOCATION: Whiteabbey Hospital site (will be required at times to travel to Larne)
HOURS: 26.25 hrs per week - Mon/Tue/Wed 9-12.45, Thu/Fri 9-5
Temporary role
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- 4 GCSEs to include English (Grade A*- C) or equivalent AND 1 year's clerical/secretarial experience in an office environment
OR
- GCSE English (Grade A*- C) or equivalent AND 2 year's clerical/secretarial experience in an office environment
PLUS
In addition to (a) or (b) applicants must have one year's working experience of using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook in an office environment.
Equivalent qualifications considered
Skills / Abilities
- Effective communication skills including call handling
- An ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Ability to work under pressure, to timescales and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of good Records Management
- Computer literate
Knowledge
- Knowledge of role of a Team Secretary
- Understanding of patient confidentiality
- Awareness of IEAP
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of computer programmes
JOB SUMMARY:
The post holder will be responsible for a range of duties including, booking systems, such as partial booking, day to day coordination of outpatient waiting list and clinics, ensuring an adherence to agreed protocol in relation to appointment booking and call handling.
