APC Maintenance Technician

Staffline Recruitment are hiring for an APC Maintenance Technician for our client based in Ireland.

Description

The role is as an APC Maintenance Technician, covering areas when the local technician is on leave. It involves regular overnight stays for as much as three to four nights per week. As part of our Technical Team you will be expected to contribute across the full range of plant in various locations.

You will primarily be responsible for the servicing, cleaning and maintenance of Automatic Public Conveniences (APCs) but may also have a role in the posting and maintenance of advertising signs.

Most work will be conducted alone but at times you may be required to work as part of a team. Some staying away from home in accommodation paid for by the Company will be required on occasion as will some evening/night and weekend work.

In addition to APCs, JCDecaux also have Outdoor Advertising Plant and Public Bike Schemes. We will require flexibility from the successful candidate to work on any JCDecaux plant as and when required, giving assistance in a scheduled or ad-hoc basis.

Core Requirements

Ideally the candidate will have a maintenance or cleaning services background ideally with a proven track record in maintenance and demonstrates a flexible multi skilled mindset.

Within limits they will be able to work on their own initiative and have the ability to prioritise tasks as required. Some work is carried out 5 meters plus from the ground so the ability to work at height is needed as is a good level of manual dexterity. They must possess a full clean driving licence and be physically fit. Applicants must be IT literate, numerate and have exceptional written and spoken English communication skills. Personal attributes including honesty, reliability, conscientiousness, commitment, punctuality and courtesy while driving or dealing with colleagues and the public, are a pre-requisite. In addition a logical approach to fault isolation and discipline in following instructions, maintaining stock, paperwork and adhering to EHS guidelines is required.

You will be involved in activities such as:

• Ad hoc, routine daily and weekly APC maintenance and cleaning tasks
• The broad spectrum of general maintenance skills together with electro-mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic work including fault finding
• Resolving and documenting issues with reference to plant documentation and with guidance from Supervisors when required.
• Communicating on a daily basis with your Supervisor and ensuring all relevant incidents and information is communicated in a timely manner
• Assisting with installations, commissioning and removals
• Providing cover on neighbouring APC Rounds as necessary
• Providing alternate weekend cover during the summer period (normally)
• Maintaining JCDecaux standards and documentation in relation to:
• Safety, quality, the environment, cleaning and maintenance
• Be responsible for van and all requisitions for supplies and stock and keep a full record of these
• Posting and maintaining Advertising Display Signs.
• Any other tasks as deemed necessary
