Electrical Design Engineer

About the Role

Staffline Recruitment is currently seeking an Electrical Design Engineer on behalf of a leading international manufacturing company based in Dunleer, Co. Louth.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer to join an established engineering team working on bespoke tank and modular solutions for a range of industries, including energy, marine, infrastructure and industrial sectors.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and development of electrical systems, ensuring that all designs meet customer specifications, relevant engineering standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design electrical circuits for tanks and modular units in line with specific customer requirements.

• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including electrical drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), calculations and technical specifications.

• Ensure all design outputs comply with relevant national and international codes and standards.

• Maintain accurate engineering documentation in line with company procedures and quality requirements.

• Liaise with customers to ensure contractual and technical requirements are clearly understood and documented.

• Coordinate with suppliers, contractors and internal departments to compile technical documentation and project reports.

• Review and approve technical documentation, including factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT) and commissioning protocols.

• Provide technical support to production, ensuring electrical installations meet the required specifications and applicable standards.

• Support project delivery by ensuring engineering documentation is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.

• Travel to deployment locations when required.

Requirements

• An honours degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant equivalent qualification.

• Ideally, 3-5 years' experience in an Electrical Design Engineering role within a commercial environment.

• Experience with electrical design layouts and schematics using EPLAN or similar design software is desirable.

• Experience with CAD, SolidWorks, Revit or SAP would be an advantage.

• A sound understanding of electrical design principles and relevant engineering standards.

• Strong technical documentation and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, suppliers and internal teams.

• A proactive, practical and flexible approach to work.

• Commercial awareness and the ability to manage competing priorities.
