About the Opportunity

Our client is an established civil engineering and infrastructure contractor specialising in water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Ireland.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Site Supervisor to oversee site operations on an infrastructure project in Portlaoise. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in civil engineering and demonstrable experience delivering water and wastewater projects, particularly those involving Uisce Éireann.

The successful candidate will play an important role in coordinating site activities, supervising teams and subcontractors, maintaining high safety and quality standards, and ensuring works are delivered in line with project programmes and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day running of site operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.

• Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and plant.

• Supervise civil engineering, utilities, groundworks and water/wastewater infrastructure activities.

• Ensure works are carried out in accordance with project drawings, specifications, programmes and relevant standards.

• Monitor project progress and identify potential delays or operational issues.

• Maintain accurate site records, daily reports, timesheets and progress updates.

• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.

• Liaise with Project Managers, Engineers, clients and other relevant stakeholders.

• Monitor workmanship and address any issues arising during construction.

• Help ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within agreed requirements.

Requirements

• Significant experience in a Site Supervisor or Senior Site Supervisor role within civil engineering, construction or utilities.

• Strong demonstrable experience working on Uisce Éireann water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

• Good understanding of Uisce Éireann specifications, standards and project requirements.

• Proven ability to coordinate site teams and subcontractors.

• Experience overseeing civil engineering, groundworks or infrastructure projects.

• Strong understanding of health, safety, environmental and quality procedures.

• Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.

• Ability to manage site activities and work to project deadlines.

• Full clean Irish driving licence.

Qualifications & Certifications

• Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction or a related discipline is advantageous.

• Valid Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification.

• Managing Safely in Construction or an equivalent qualification.

• Additional site management or health and safety qualifications would be beneficial.
