About the Role

Are you a practical, hands-on person with experience in property maintenance? We are currently recruiting for a Handy Person to join the Northern Ireland Housing Executive's maintenance team in Portadown.

This is a varied role for someone with a broad range of maintenance skills, covering everything from external repairs and groundworks to minor plumbing, joinery and internal property improvements. You'll play an important part in helping maintain homes and ensure properties remain safe and fit for purpose.

Please note: A C1 driving licence is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

External Maintenance

• Carry out groundworks, concrete repairs, flagging and garden maintenance.

• Erect and repair fences and gates.

• Excavate and lay pipes, clear blockages, and repair foul and stormwater drainage systems.

• Carry out gutter, downpipe and soil pipe repairs.

• Complete minor roof and patch repairs.

• Assist with the erection of scaffolding.

• Undertake power washing and general external handyman duties.

Internal Maintenance

• Complete minor plastering repairs, including boarding.

• Carry out minor plumbing, joinery and painting work.

• Fit level-access shower trays and associated drainage.

• Apply levelling compounds to floors and carry out concrete floor repairs.

• Complete floor and wall tiling, including non-slip flooring in small areas.

• Carry out house clear-outs.

• Undertake general internal handyman duties and other related maintenance tasks.

Essential Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• At least 2 years' relevant experience in a similar role, providing a range of internal and external property maintenance services. Please include dates of relevant employment on your CV.

• Basic AccessNI clearance.

• A clean driving licence.

• A valid C1 driving licence.

• Intermediate-level IT proficiency.
