Salary: €35,000 - €40,000 DOE

The Opportunity

Staffline Recruitment is working with an established international organisation within the construction and building products sector to recruit a CAD Engineer - Technical Support for their Dublin operation.

This is a hands-on technical role centred around 2D CAD drawings, engineering calculations and project support. Working alongside the commercial and technical teams, you will help translate customer and project requirements into accurate drawings, calculations and practical technical solutions.

The position would suit someone at an early stage of their engineering or technical career who has hands-on CAD experience, strong attention to detail and an interest in developing their knowledge within a construction-focused environment.

This is primarily a desk-based, on-site role in Tallaght and does not offer hybrid working. The initial focus will be on developing strong technical and product knowledge within the office environment.

What You'll Be Doing

• Produce and update 2D CAD drawings, layouts and supporting technical documentation.
• Complete project-specific technical calculations, including U-Value, Wind Uplift and Roof Drainage calculations.
• Review drawings, specifications and project information to ensure technical outputs are accurate.
• Provide technical assistance to the Sales Team throughout customer enquiries and live projects.
• Support the wider Technical Team with ongoing project and product requirements.
• Respond to technical queries from customers, contractors, installers and other project stakeholders.
• Liaise with architects, customers and internal colleagues to gather the information required for drawings and calculations.
• Provide clear and accurate information relating to products, applications and installation requirements.
• Maintain organised records of drawings, calculations and supporting technical documentation.
• Develop a strong understanding of the company's product range, technical systems and applications through ongoing training and practical experience.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• At least 1 year of relevant experience within CAD, engineering support, construction, technical support or a similar technical environment.
• Practical experience working with 2D CAD software, ideally AutoCAD or equivalent.
• Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings and project information.
• Good numerical ability with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
• Confident communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
• Ability to organise priorities and manage multiple customer or project requirements.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and learning new technical concepts.

Desirable:

• A qualification in Engineering, Construction, Architectural Technology, CAD/Drafting or another relevant technical discipline.
• Previous exposure to the construction, roofing, building envelope or building products sector would be advantageous.
