Location: Cork
Contract: 1-Year Fixed Term
Hours: Full-Time
Salary: €52,338 - €64,190 per annum, depending on experience and applicable point on the scale
Working Arrangement: Fully onsite

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading higher education organisation in Cork for a Library Systems & Workflow Analyst to join its Digital Systems team on a 1-year fixed-term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced library systems or IT professional to take a lead role in supporting critical library technology, systems and workflows within a busy, student-facing environment.

The successful candidate will lead a small systems support team and work closely with library colleagues, IT teams, suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure the effective operation and ongoing development of core library systems and services.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, support and development of library systems and associated workflows.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing day-to-day administration of the organisation's Library Management System, including configuration, maintenance, upgrades, troubleshooting and staff support.
  • Leading a small team providing technical support for hardware and software used by library staff and users.
  • Working closely with internal IT teams and third-party suppliers to resolve incidents and maintain reliable systems and services.
  • Managing supplier relationships, support arrangements, renewals and equipment purchasing.
  • Supporting system upgrades, enhancements and service improvements.
  • Monitoring system performance and coordinating responses to service disruptions.
  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders to improve systems, processes and workflows.
  • Supporting the planning and delivery of digital technology initiatives and systems projects.
  • Contributing to the implementation of new systems, integrations and technology solutions.
  • Supporting ongoing transformation and digital development within the library environment.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Library and Information Studies, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting business-critical software systems within a professional environment.
  • Experience leading or coordinating a small technical or systems support team.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to review and improve operational processes and workflows.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders to deliver service improvements or projects.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a busy, changing environment.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving and relationship-building skills.

Desirable Experience

The following would be advantageous:

  • Experience working within a library, higher education or public sector environment.
  • Experience supporting a Library Management System.
  • Knowledge of library technologies, authentication systems and system integrations.
  • Experience with systems implementation, upgrades or migration projects.
  • Familiarity with project management approaches such as Agile or Lean.

Important Information

This is a student-facing service, and the successful candidate will be required to work onsite in Cork to provide effective support to library staff and services.

The position is expected to commence as soon as possible, with the successful candidate required to provide maternity leave cover for a period of up to one year.
