General Operative

Rate of Pay: £13.97

Hours: Monday to Thursday - 8AM - 5PM Friday - 8AM - 1PM

Purpose of the Role and Objectives:

• Assist with all tasks associated with the production of containerised gas engines.
• Participate fully as a member of the manufacturing team.
• Assist Fore person, team leaders, subcontractors and other departments with any issues.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards across the shopfloor and panel shop.
• Support the safe, efficient and timely production and despatch of containerised gas engine sets.
• Complete all allocated work to the required quality standards and in line with relevant method statements and risk assessments.
• Work collaboratively with the Production Foreperson, Team Leaders and other departments to support production activities

Responsibilities:

• Ensure shopfloor and panel shop are kept tidy at all times i.e. waste removed to relevant skips, bins emptied
• To ensure housekeeping standards are maintained at all times i.e. tools/ cables returned after use, packaging disposed of in relevant bins.
• To clean out and paint sets as deemed necessary prior to despatch.
• Bale cardboard as necessary.
• Unload trucks using forklift
• Deliver items to shopfloor
• To ensure all work is carried out as per the relevant method statements and risk assessments.
• To ensure that all work is carried out to the highest quality standards.
• To always consider the health & safety of yourself and others affected by your work.
• To ensure that all sets are despatched within the time scales allocated.
• To assist and help fore person and team leaders with all production issues.
• Participate fully as a member of the team.
• Assist other departments with all other issues.
• Carry out any other duties deemed necessary by management.

Essential Criteria:

• Manual handling training
• Minimum of 2 years working in a busy production environment
• Effective and focused on delivering results and working as an integral part of the team.
• Considerable drive with the ability to operate unsupervised. Effective communication skills.
• Effective skills in customer relations and willing to promote the benefits of the product.
• Forklift Licence
