Our client an established Irish business within the steel manufacturing and processing industry seeks to hire a Machine Operator.

This role involves setting up, operating and maintaining machinery to support the efficient running of production. This role would suit a reliable, safety-conscious team player with attention to detail and a willingness to learn and improve.

Hours:

Monday-Thursday, 7am-5pm; Friday, 7am-3pm

Key Responsibilities

• Set up machines and control and adjust machine functions and settings.
• Operate associated machinery within the production facility.
• Inspect products using measuring tools and check output for machine-related flaws.
• Test, monitor, maintain and clean machines, including carrying out safety checks where possible.
• Identify and fix issues that occur during the shift.
• Maintain records of final products and complete daily worksheets.
• Ensure required materials are available and provide progress information to supervisors.

Essential Criteria

• Proven experience as a machine operator.
• Working knowledge of diverse machinery and measurement tools.
• Understanding of production procedures.
• Adherence to health and safety regulations, including use of protective gear.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals to an extent.
• Analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Teamwork and good communication skills.
• Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items and work overtime.
