Health & Safety Officer

Staffline Recruitment Ireland is currently recruiting a Health & Safety Officer on behalf of a well-established and growing logistics business based in Limerick. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced health and safety professional who enjoys being on-site, engaging with people, and driving a strong culture of safety across busy logistics and warehousing operations.

This is a hands-on role supporting three operational sites, where you'll play a key part in ensuring compliance, delivering training, and promoting best practice in health and safety.

The Role

Reporting to senior management, you will be responsible for supporting and promoting a positive health and safety culture across all sites while ensuring compliance with Irish health and safety legislation and company procedures.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Delivering engaging site inductions for new employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Coordinating and delivering manual handling training, including refresher sessions.
• Assisting with the development and implementation of risk assessments, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and safe systems of work.
• Carrying out regular site inspections, safety audits, and toolbox talks.
• Supporting incident reporting, investigations, and the implementation of corrective actions.
• Providing practical health and safety guidance to managers, supervisors, and employees.
• Maintaining accurate training, compliance, and health and safety records.
• Liaising with external training providers and regulatory bodies when required.

About You

We're looking for someone who is proactive, approachable, and passionate about creating safe working environments.

You'll ideally have:

• A qualification in Occupational Health & Safety (Diploma or higher preferred).
• Previous experience in a Health & Safety Officer or similar role.
• Proven experience delivering manual handling training and site inductions.
• A strong understanding of Irish Health & Safety legislation.
• Experience within logistics, warehousing, transport, manufacturing, or another fast-paced operational environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage colleagues at all levels.
• A full, clean driving licence and the flexibility to travel between local sites.
