A leading manufacturing company producing high-quality baked goods seek to hire a FSQ Support Technician
Graduate/Student Initiative - Summer work or Placement Year.
* Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, up to 43 hours per week, with flexibility to support 12-hour shifts and weekends
About the Role
The FSQ Support Technician offers third-level students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in food safety and quality within a manufacturing environment. This role would suit students seeking summer work or a placement year while developing practical industry knowledge and skills. You will support food safety, quality, and continuous improvement activities across the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct daily production and pre-production checks on the production floor
* Prepare, review, implement and monitor QA procedures, processes and corrective actions
* Ensure factory hygiene and GMP standards are maintained at all times
* Log, track and analyse non-conformances and customer complaints to support KPI improvements
* Support new product and process development through specifications, product information and artwork verification
* Monitor and analyse data and trends to support quality and food safety objectives
* Keep relevant stakeholders informed of consumer satisfaction levels and initiatives
* Support quality culture and continuous improvement activities across the business
Essential Criteria
* Food Safety-related qualification achieved or currently being undertaken and/or 2 years' food industry experience
* Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
* Strong interpersonal, organisational and time management skills
* Proactive, flexible attitude to work, hours and location
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work across multiple departments
* Ability to work on own initiative with negotiation, decision-making, problem-solving and analytical skills
* Team player able to work in a hot environment with possible airborne particles and stand for up to 8 hours
* Understanding the importance of getting it right first time
Desirable Criteria
* Knowledge of Lean tools and techniques
* Previous experience using Lean tools and techniques
* Interest in further learning
