ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT | CONTRACT | SWORDS

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support our clients finance function. This is a ten-month Mat Leave Contract with the potential of a permanent opportunity with the team based on business requirements.

Office hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm with free parking on site.

THE ROLE|

You will play a key role in producing accurate financial information, strengthening controls, and improving finance processes to support business decisions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES|

• Prepare and post journals, including accruals and prepayments
• Support month-end and year-end close, ensuring accuracy and deadlines are met
• Perform monthly cost analysis and variance reviews to support financial insights
• Assist in delivering high-quality managerial reporting aligned with accounting standards and corporate policies
• Maintain accurate financial ledgers and supporting documentation
• Support audit processes, including preparation and responding to audit queries
• Ensure strong internal controls, including monthly reporting to regional teams

REQUIREMENTS|

• Minimum 2 years' experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role
• Recognised Accountancy Qualification (Diploma, Degree, or Accounting Technician)
• Strong financial analysis and reporting skills
• Advanced Excel skills (essential) as an Excel test is part of the interview process
• Experience with SAP and/or Power BI is advantageous
