Community Resilience Officer
Lough Neagh Discovery Centre - will include travel across NI
Temporary until 30th June 2026
Hours of Work: 37hrs per week
Rate of Pay: £18.34 per hour
The Client: Armagh, Banbridge & Craigavon Council
The Role:
The post holder will be responsible for delivering Community Resilience activities in line with the overall objectives of the Regional Community Resilience Group. The objective will be empowering communities across specific areas in Northern Ireland to become more resilient in the face of flooding and other risks. They will be required to develop societal resilience in accordance with the National Consortium for Societal Resilience (NCSR) principles and will need to be able to demonstrate an ability to work with all relevant stakeholders across community, voluntary and statutory sectors.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
It is essential that applicants have a minimum of:
QUALIFICATIONS
A third level qualification (i.e. HNC/HND, Level 4, Degree) in line with the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) in any discipline
EXPERIENCE
One year's experience in all of the following:
- Managing projects
- Partnership working with other organisations in the public and private sector
*Applicants who do not possess a third level qualification must demonstrate four years' relevant experience as above.
KEY SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ATTRIBUTES
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Collaborative team-working approach and the ability to support and work constructively with others
- Excellent organisation and project management skills and ability to plan and manage priorities to ensure deadlines are met and objectives achieved
- Problem-solving and decision making/ability to analyse complex issues and be capable of developing and implementing a range of practical risk-based solutions
- Outcomes-focused
- High level of technical competence in dealing with complex issues
- Flexible approach
DRIVING
- Hold a full current driving licence (valid in the UK) and have access to a car at the closing date or have **access to a form of transport which will permit the applicant to carry out the duties of the post in full

In addition to the standard pre-employment checks this position will also be subject to receipt of a satisfactory Basic Access NI check
