My client a leading public sector organisation based in Belfast is currently seeking an Autism Practitioner to join their existing team.
Hours: The hours of work can be negotiated, full-time or part-time flexible working hours available.
Pay: £24.45 per hour
**Must have a non-psychology background and also live registration with professional body (eg HCPC, NMC, etc)**
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- To provide specialist diagnostic assessment of persons presenting with social communication, interaction, emotional and behavioural difficulties as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- To participate as an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team and to be responsible for the management of a case load.
- To demonstrate enhanced levels of practice, competence and skills when working with adults, families and carers.
To facilitate a consultation, training and liaison model of service provision for professionals working with service users.
- To provide supervision to junior colleagues when appropriate.
- To develop and create resources for Autism Services.
- To participate as appropriate in the delivery of therapeutic interventions when indicated.
- To participate in the development of care pathways in conjunction with voluntary and statutory agencies to enhance services provided to service users.
- To provide written reports as appropriate.
- To participate in quality improvements, audit and evaluation of practice within the service.
- To contribute to training of statutory, voluntary and community staff.
- To collect and collate statistical information which, will form an essential part of the team evidence based practice.
- To liaise with other disciplines, outside agencies and departments to ensure effective communication, reporting and sharing of information takes place at all times in line with Trust procedures as directed.
- To participate in relevant service training and attend courses in line with service, team objectives and continued professional development.
- To provide regular monitoring and evaluation reports as required by line manager.

- To be responsible for the allocation of work and prioritisation of work to clerical support staff, in collaboration with the rest of the team.
- To undertake such other duties commensurate with the post and which from time to time may be revised in the light of developments or needs within the service.
Essential Criteria
Significant post-qualifying experience working with adults with mental health difficulties and/ or neuro-diverse conditions.
Knowledge & Experience of assessing adults with Social, Emotional & Behavioural Presentations.
Degree level qualification in a relevant Health and Social Care area (e.g. Nursing (Mental Health or Adult), Social Worker, Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist, with live registration with their respective professional body if appropriate.
Significant experience working as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
Hold current Full Driving licence valid in the UK with access to a car. This criteria will be waived in the case of an applicant whose disability prohibits driving but who is able to organise suitable alternative arrangements.
