Clerical Officer
Location: Belfast
* Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm
* Pay Rate £12.65 per hour
About the Role:
The Clerical Officer role is a key administrative position within the Belfast Regional Management Team, supporting Belfast Housing Solutions. The Clerical Officer will provide essential clerical and administrative support, working on their own initiative to ensure accurate, timely completion of tasks while delivering a high standard of customer service. The Clerical Officer will contribute to effective business operations through communication, record keeping, and day-to-day office support.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage performance measures to support understanding and improvement of business activity
* Record all outcomes to ensure they are proportionate, legal, auditable, and necessary
* Draft responses to letters and complaints on behalf of the Business Area Manager
* Provide cover arrangements within the office and undertake other relevant duties as required
* Answer calls using the telephony system
* Use the Board app to triage and allocate work
* Monitor main inboxes and prepare written responses to customers
* Set up and maintain databases using own initiative
* Make outbound calls to customers to gather information for assessment
* Undertake ad hoc administrative duties as required
Essential Criteria:
* One year experience in a relevant role
* Beginner-level IT proficiency
* Ability to work on own initiative and remain motivated
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Compassionate approach with a drive to support customers
* Ability to take responsibility for accurate and timely completion of tasks
* Ability to meet Basic Access NI requirements
