Are you an experienced Buyer or Purchasing professional looking for your next challenge? We are seeking a talented Purchasing Manager to join a high-performing operations team within a fast-moving food production environment.

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of procurement activities, build key supplier relationships, and support continuous improvement within a growing business.

About the Role

As Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for sourcing materials, equipment, and services that ensure smooth operational performance and value for money. You will work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to negotiate competitive terms, manage inventory requirements, and support the wider supply chain strategy.

This is a hands-on, strategic role suited to someone who enjoys accountability, collaboration, and driving commercial results.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and purchase materials, supplies, equipment, and services for day-to-day operations
• Research, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers based on quality, delivery, and cost
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, terms, and delivery logistics
• Build and manage strong supplier relationships to ensure continuity of supply
• Monitor purchase orders and coordinate with warehousing and operations teams
• Manage inventory levels and support cost-saving initiatives
• Resolve delivery issues, discrepancies, and back-orders with suppliers
• Conduct spend analysis and prepare reports to support procurement strategy
• Ensure compliance with internal quality, environmental, and safety standards
• Stay informed on market trends, pricing changes, and industry developments

About You

• Qualification in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Accounting, or related area
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a buying or procurement role (manufacturing or FMCG desirable)
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office
• Highly organised, detail-focused, and able to manage workload independently
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to build cross-functional relationships
• Problem-solving mindset with adaptability in a fast-paced environment
