Job Title: General Manager
Location: Tramore, Co. Waterford
Job Type: Full-time
Work Arrangement: On-site

About Us

We are a long-established entertainment and leisure organisation with over 40 years of experience operating high-performing venues across Ireland. Our Tramore location is a vibrant, fast-paced destination at the heart of the local entertainment scene. We pride ourselves on providing a warm, welcoming environment where customers feel valued and engaged.
We are a people-focused business-and we're looking for a standout leader to become the face and driving force of our flagship Waterford venue.

The Opportunity

As General Manager, you won't just manage the venue-you'll own it. You will shape its culture, drive its performance, and create an atmosphere that keeps customers returning.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead a team of supervisors and frontline staff, ensuring exceptional customer experiences and strong commercial results.

This role is ideal for an experienced leader from a high-volume hospitality, retail, or leisure background who is ready to take full ownership of a dynamic, exciting business.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead & Inspire Your Team

  • Lead, coach, and empower supervisors and customer-facing staff to deliver exceptional performance.

  • Manage the full employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and development.

  • Act as a hands-on "player-coach," setting the standard for service by working closely with the team on the floor.

2. Drive Business Performance

  • Take full responsibility for the venue's P&L, with strong focus on budgeting, cost control, and revenue growth.

  • Use performance data to make informed commercial decisions that maximise profitability.

  • Develop and execute effective local marketing and community engagement strategies to grow footfall and build customer loyalty.

  • Provide clear performance reports and insights to senior management.

3. Create an Unforgettable Atmosphere

  • Be the venue's leading ambassador, ensuring a vibrant, welcoming, and compliant environment at all times.

  • Handle escalated customer issues with professionalism, empathy, and strong service recovery skills.

  • Uphold high operational standards across cleanliness, safety, machine uptime, and overall venue presentation.

What You'll Bring

  • 3-5+ years of management experience in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment such as hospitality, leisure, or retail.

  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, controlling costs, and owning P&L outcomes.

  • A hands-on leadership style with a genuine "player-coach" mindset.

  • Proven success in leading, developing, and motivating high-performing teams.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect naturally with both customers and staff.

  • Resilience, adaptability, and strong problem-solving ability in a dynamic environment.

  • A genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Why You'll Love Working With Us

  • Real Autonomy: You will run the venue as your own business with strong support from senior leadership.

  • Competitive Package: Attractive salary plus performance-based bonus.

  • Clear Career Progression: Opportunities to advance within a growing organisation.

  • Supportive, High-Energy Culture: Join a collaborative, data-driven team that values innovation, performance, and people.
